Welcome to the web site of the Department of Pharmacology, University of Nevada School of Medicine. The Department participates in education of medical, graduate and undergraduate students. Members of the department also conduct basic biomedical research on mechanisms of drug action on excitable cells. Topics of current research include:

     
     
     
     Cardiac and smooth muscle electrophysiology, molecular biology of ion channels
     Biochemistry, biophysics and molecular biology of skeletal muscle cells
     Cellular and molecular aspects of neuropharmacology
     Vascular wall cell biology
   Cell physiology and molecular biology of smooth muscle contraction and motility
